    Ing. Jaroslav Maroušek, CSc. - chairman of the board of SEVEn, o.p.s.

    J. Maroušek has a degree in Economics and Energy Management from the Czech Technical University.  After working for a short time at Škoda company on assembling electric power plants, he crossed over to research.  In this capacity, he worked on energy efficiency issues in energy sectors and later created energy forecast models for energy needs. From 1985 Mr. Maroušek led a team of experts working in the field of energy efficiency. In his work he focused especially on analysis of relationship between economy and energy sector. In his dissertation thesis he presented/submitted Input/Output analysis of the energy intensity of Czechoslovak economy and in the year 1992 he defended it and obtained a degree of candidate of sciences in the sector (corresponding to PhD) of department and cross-section economy. After 1989, he worked as the Director of the Energy Policy Division at VÚPEK (The Research Institute for the Fuel and Energy Sector) in Prague, one of the premier energy research institutes in the Czech Republic.  He had been employed as a director of SEVEn since its founding in December 1990 till September 2008 when he became Chairman of SEVEn's Board of directors. He is the author of many articles and studies and gave many lectures in Czech Republic and abroad. He is a member of boards of directors of the energy efficiency centers in Poland (FEWE), Bulgary (Eneffect) and in Ukraine (ArenaEko). Mr. Maroušek served as a project consultant to the World Bank and a consultant to UNDP. He participated as an expert in many expert groups including the Expert Team for Independent Evaluation of Completion of the Temelín Power Plant, established by the Czech government.  During the time period 2000-2001 Mr. Maroušek represented the Czech Republic in the Ad-Hoc Open-ended Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Energy and Sustainable Development at UN.

    Ing. Juraj Krivošík, MA. - executive director of SEVEn, o.p.s.

    Juraj Krivošík, director of SEVEn, o.p.s., graduated from the Commercial Faculty of the Economics University in Bratislava and completed an Energy Studies program at the University of Sheffield in Great Britain. He worked for several non-governmental environmental organizations on energy efficiency and energy conservation. He has written and co-authored several publications on the economic and social aspects of the production and consumption of energy. He has worked at  SEVEn since September 2000 and specializes in ways of overcoming impediments to the broader application of energy conservation. He works on projects involving economic analyses of energy systems, the effects of subsidies and of energy prices on its consumption, regional energy plans and the promotion of energy conservation. He coordinates international projects in the field of household appliances energy labelling and energy efficient lighting. He is a Managing Editor of the newsletter News at SEVEn.

    Ing. Mgr. Tomáš Chadim - business director, senior consultant

    Tomáš Chadim has been working at the SEVEn Centre since 2005.  He studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague and the Southern Bohemia University in České Budějovice before his employment in the company. At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University, he received a degree in Economics and Energy Management; his studies at the Southern Bohemia University focused on pedagogy in the fields of physics and computer science. His work at SEVEn mainly focuses on providing implementation of energy saving initiatives and on designing programs promoting efficient use of energy. Within his official position, he specialises in the methodology of service provision evaluation, contract proposal and implementation of selection procedures. Among his other specializations are industrial concerns, energy audits, and the conception and solution of energy projects in the area of power engineering.

    Ing. Tomáš Voříšek - technical director, senior consultant

    Tomáš Voříšek (born 1977) since his graduation at Southern Bohemian University, subject Economy and Management, has a primary professional interest in the assessment of the conditions and the potential for regional use of renewable energy sources, especially biomass. His professional interests is continuously extending since he has started working with SEVEn (in 2001) and also include energy conservation and the efficient use of energy in households, the municipal sphere and industry. His focus is on the qualitative and economic aspects of energy recovery and its economic usage and final consumption. His projects on these subjects include his study of the potential and forms of support for the generation of electricity from renewable sources and more recently savings of greenhouse emissions and their trading.  Tomas Vorisek cooperated in these projects: (internal) study on the possibilities and forms of support of electricity from renewable sources, Energy Master Plan for the City of Prague, national barrier and measure analysis on the support to renovate residential buildings in the Czech Republic, Energy Audit of TKO Malesice incinerator, technical support for JI projects Prototypal Carbon Fund in CR or cooperation on preparation of legislation implementation of the Law on Support  the Electricity from Renewable sources. Currently  (2007) is responsible for activities related to the projects of energy use of biogas, promotion of energy savings and  alternative fuel and drive use in transport.

    Ing. Vladimír Sochor - economic director, senior consultant

    Vladimír Sochor graduated from the Industrial Economics Faculty of the Prague School of Economics in 1981. During the course of the next years, he worked in a wide range of positions in industrial operation and economics at various levels from that of a clerk to that of a manager. After 1989 he served as a manager of a local service company, and he has three years of experience working at the largest Czech bank - Česká spořitelna. He was with SEVEn since 1994 till 1999 (first time). After that he worked as sales manager in two companies ESCO; Siemens was first (1999 - 2004) and local ESCO named Martia was second (2004 - 2006). From 2006 he is with SEVEn again. He specializes in economic and financial analyses of energy efficiency projects and works on financing investments in energy-saving projects. He makes full use of his financial-management experience in both the commercial and municipal spheres.

    Jiří Neuwirth graduated in Heating Energy Machinery and Equipment from the Engineering and Electrical Engineering College in Plzeň in 1968. In 1972 he completed his studies with postgraduate work in the protection and creation of the environment at the Engineering Faculty of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Concluding work – Utilisation of organic waste in national economy of eastern region with regard to the environmental security. For a number of years he worked at the State Energy Inspectorate and then at the Czech Technical Inspectorate for Air Pollution at the Ministry of Forestry and Water Management. He also worked as an external lecturer for post-matriculation courses in industrial energy at the State Energy Inspectorate Institute in Prague for the South Bohemia region. After 1990, he worked at companies engaged in various energy projects within the South Bohemia region. In 1994 he became an executive head of Öko-Plan České Budějovice company, which was engaged with heat supply many municipalities. Most of these actions was realised in praxis with saving potential security. In 1999 he joined SEVEn and at the same time became head of the České Budějovice regional Branch Section. Here he has been working on energy audits in communal and industry sector, conceptions in industry and energy, conceptions of buildings  and industry areas of the cities and regions. He is particularly involved in planning technical policies involving energy investment and the implementation of plans. Throughout his professional career he has seen most of his technical work through to practical implementation and is regularly involved in lecturing and publicity activities in post-matriculation industrial energy and environmental protection courses.

    Gustav Kodl graduated in the construction of machines and instruments at the Electrical Engineering Faculty of ZČU in Plzeň in 1994. After university education he became involved in the elaboration of regional energy plans and energy audits at Ökoplan s.r.o. České Budějovice. He then worked at the EGÚ Energy Institute in České Budějovice, where he took part in the design, development and implementation of quenching choke tuning automatics in distribution networks and other parts of distribution networks. In 1999, he joined JČP a.s. České Budějovice as an independent gas regulation station technician. Since 2000, he has been working at SEVEn in České Budějovice, where he is involved in elaborating of regional energy plans, energy audits, technical and economic analyses and the evaluation of energy conservation. In the year 2007 he successfully passed state exam and obtained certificate of energy auditor no. 272.

    Ing. Bohuslav Málek - senior consultant

    Bohuslav Málek (born 1953) graduated in 1976 at the Czech Technical University, Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Prague. Until 1992 he worked for Energoprojekt Praha and participated on the design of nuclear and classical power plants. In 1993 with Energoconsult Praha he headed the technical teams preparing ICB under World bank for modernization of Czech power plants.  From 1993 to 2000 he worked as project development manager for EPS CR, a private energy services company, and was responsible for conceptual design of a number of energy savings projects. After this company (later renamed to MVV Energie CZ) became a member of MVV Energie AG group, a German utility company in Mannheim, Mr. Málek as head of Technical development dpt was involved in a number of acquisition projects and was responsible for modernization projects at 8 district heating companies in the MVV Energie CZ group.. His engagement at SEVEn (since June 2005) started with district heating modernization projects in Serbia financed by European Agency for Reconstruction. He focuses on district heating system projects, energy audits and renewable energy sources. In the year 2007 he successfully passed state exam and obtained certificate of energy auditor no. 275.

    Ing. Miroslav Honzík, Ph.D. - senior consultant

    Miroslav Honzík, Ph.D. (1975) studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague- Faculty of Electrical Engineering, specialization Economics and Management of Electrical and Power Engineering. He finished Ph.D. studies at the same department in 2006. He was awarded first prize for his thesis „The Economic efficiency of heat pumps in the Czech Republic” by the Czech Energy Company Inc. in their IV. year competition for the best thesis in 2001 and in 2006, he was awarded first prize for his Ph.D. thesis „The Factors influencing energy demand of gross domestic product” by the same company in their IX. year competition for the best thesis. In 2002, he participated in the solving of RER/0/019 project which was supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. The target of this project was to find the solution of the case study on topic “The Role of Nuclear Power plant in the Czech Electricity System” by MESSAGE software model. He worked in the Czech Energy Agency (CEA) in Statistics and Analysis Department till the end of year 2007. He devoted to analytical activities concerning evaluation of RES and energy savings’ projects (mainly their economic and environmental benefits) in the framework of Government programme part A (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and Operational programme Industry and Enterprise 2004 – 2006. He also participated in CEA’s international projects within the Intelligent Energy Europe programme. He has been working in SEVEn Energy Ltd as consultant since 1st April 2008. His professional activities are mainly focused on the energy efficiency monitoring, energy policy and solution of economic problems in the field of energy savings and RES in particular.

    Pavel Kárník graduated in measurement and regulation systems from the Czech Technical University Engineering Faculty in Prague. From 1965 to 1995 he was employed at three research institutes and worked in measurement and management of technical processes in the chemical industry, monitoring systems for the measurement of emissions and he drew up energy audits for industrial concerns. In 1978, he completed his thesis on "Emission Monitoring Systems". In the 1990s, he completed several courses abroad on energy auditing and handling projects by means of Energy Performance Contracting. After 1995, he was employed by Landis & Gyr, where he became involved in the assessment of energy management at businesses, schools and hospitals. He has been working at SEVEn since 1997 and continues to perform energy audits in hospitals, schools, industrial concerns, focusing on accomplishing energy projects using EPC. In 2004 he obtained a certificate as energy auditor no. 175.

    Ing. Mgr. Michal Staša - consultant

    Michal Staša studied energetics at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He focused his studies on light technologies and photometry. Furthermore in 2010 he graduated from Charles University in Prague with Master degree in Civil Society Studies. He is active in Amnesty International Czech Republic and worked as Vice-Chair, later Chairman of the Board of Directors during 2007/2008. From 2005 to 2008, he worked for Trilux Czech Republic as a lighting designer providing clients with interior and exterior lighting systems. He has been working at SEVEn as a consultant since October 2008. He specializes in energy demands’ reductions of lighting systems. He participated in designing of measures for the Czech National Theatre intended for energy consumption savings and took part in energy audit of outdoor lighting of the village Hradištko. He is also increasing other professional competencies in energy savings.

    Petr Zahradník (born 1981) graduated at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, study program Civil Engineering, specialization Building Construction and Structures. After he graduated (in 2005), he started with a postgraduate study with the theme The evaluation of effect of structural design of selected details on thermal and moisture mode of a roof deck. Petr Zahradník worked in several architectonic and design ateliers, especially VVV Architekti Praha as a designer. Then he worked in developer company Finep as an Assistant of Director of Department of Project and Design Management on technically-economical analyses of design and building processes, co-operated with subcontracted designers (negotiations and supervision) and solved technical issues in huge contracts with subcontracted designers. Main projects which he took part in were Nová Harfa, Prosek, Západní Město, Na Hvězdárně (all in Prague) and Jégého Alej (Bratislava, SK). Since 2005 he has worked in SEVEn as a Consultant. His priority is in energy efficiency of buildings in general. He specializes in design consulting of “low-energy” and “passive” buildings and their systems. He works on several “energy efficient” projects – Intelligent Energy Europe (e.g. Low cost/Low energy buildings, Reshape, EL-Tertiary etc) and huge subsidy European Operational Program - Operational Environmental Program (OPŽP). Together with that he is a consultant of Ministry of Environment in this issue. Currently he works on several Energy Audits and Energy Performance Certificates and prepares low energy/passive buildings projects.

    Michaela Valentova (1982) received her MSc Degree in Environmental Sciences and Policy at Central European University in Budapest, where she graduated with distinction. After that, she worked as a trainee in Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, where she mostly dealt with the EU SAVE projects, but also participated in evaluating the National Energy Efficiency Action Plans. Currently, Michaela is a PhD student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. She started working in SEVEn in May 2008 and mostly works on European energy saving projects under the Intelligent Energy Europe programme, including projects on promotion of more efficient appliances or lighting to final consumers (e.g. New GreenLight, Topten or the project on metering standby consumption SELINA). Member of the ECEEE – European Council for Energy Efficient Economy.

    Jana Szomolányiová (1973) graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University in Prague. Upon obtaining her college degree, she participated in several courses engaged in reducing energy saving and statistic analyses for power consumption. She began her professional career at the University of Economics as social research assistant. From 1997 to 2005, she worked at SEVEn (for the first time). She managed and participated in creating solutions for projects concentrating on the transposition of European Union legislature into the legislature of the Czech Republic, modeled the development of national economy, power consumption and emission. Afterwards, she worked at analytical positions in terms of RWE. Since September 2009, she has been employed again at SEVEn as a consultant. She specializes in economic analyses of energy saving projects and focuses on mass purchasing for the public sector and organizations. She is the author and co-author of many articles regarding the issues of greenhouse gas emission trade, theoretical analyses in power engineering and the effective use of energy.
