SEVEn has helped transform the Czech power industry to a significant degree. Whilst elaborating projects in the framework of liberalising the Czech energy market we drew upon extensive foreign experience.

SEVEn actively pursues analysis, evaluation and the preparation of policies and programmes for supporting energy savings and using renewable energy sources in both the Czech Republic and in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

Some of SEVEn’s main activities:

• Estimating potential saving measures and the associated costs
• Identifying economic, normative, information, promotional, voluntary and other instruments for increasing energy efficiency
• Assessing the suitability of instruments for the conditions in the Czech Republic, for a liberalised energy market and for their accord with the developmental trends in the EU framework and at the international level
• Selecting and recommending a suitable set of tools for implementation in the short and long-term 
• Assessing the success of the implemented programmes in the framework of both the Czech Republic and the Central European region
