THE ANNUAL REPORT 2009 OF SEVEn, THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY CENTER

Dear friends and business partners,

We present to you the 2009 Annual Report of SEVEn, o.p.s. (The Energy Efficiency Center), a non-profit organisation. Last year – the nineteenth since the company was set up – confirmed the company’s further development and direction, both in terms of a growing number of projects with a positive impact on increased energy efficiency and the organisation and thematic focus of company activities.

2009 was marked by the fi nancial and economic crisis, which led to a partial decrease in energy prices and the unwillingness of companies to invest in new activities – both of which had an impact on the interest in the investmentsin energy savings.

Nevertheless, even at a time of crisis, SEVEn initiated and carried out a wide range of projects that have had a positive impact not only on the owners and operators, but on society as a whole – be it in the Czech Republic or elsewhere.

In 2009, SEVEn projects focused on organising tenders to supply EPC services, as well as preparing subsidy projects, primarily from the Operational Programme "Environment". Eff orts were also concentrated on assessment and projects implementing particular energy savings in the sectors of lighting and energy efficient buildings, or on the potential of renewable energy sources in particular projects.

SEVEn, o.p.s. also provided a series of educational and informational activities in the form of seminars, publications and presentation in the media, as well as in the form of assessment of Czech or foreign legislation pertaining to energy consumption in buildings, insulation, heating and electrical appliances.

We invite you to read through the references to projects that we worked on last year. Please take a look at the outputs, information materials and contents of individual published documents. We would primarily like to thank you in advance for sharing with us your plans in the fi eld of energy efficiency, and for letting us know whether we could be of assistance to you on your way to energy efficiency.

We would like to thank all of our partners, clients, supporters, and co-organisers for their support in 2009 and look forward to our cooperation in 2010.
