Update to the energy concept in South Bohemia

During the process of updating the energy concept, SEVEn analyzed the potential of using biomass as an energy supply in the South Bohemia region. The output of the updates concentrated on so-called energy action plans of the SB region.

1. Safe and reliable energy distribution for all SB region residents,

2. Protecting the environment against negative impacts related to the production of fuels and energy in the SB region,

3. Efficient energy use aimed at minimizing energy distribution costs.

Progress (Promotion and Growth of Renewable Energy Sources and Systems)

The purpose of PROGRESS (Promotion and Growth of Renewable Energy Sources and Systems) is to provide the European Commission with the analytical inputs of renewable resources in the EU Member States.
The Commission will use these materials to monitor the degree of achievement

Clearsupport

Paving the way for a better energy performance of buildings in the EU.

The Clearinghouse Support project is contributing to facilitate implementation of energy savings in buildings and is linked with EU policy goals.

The EU Green Paper on Energy Efficiency from 2005 and the Energy Efficiency Action Plan from October 2006 focuses on the creation of economic and financial arrangements for energy efficiency investments – having as the overall aim to establish a European Clearinghouse for small-medium scale sustainable energy projects.

Emmissions Trading in the Czech Republic (JI - Japan)

The aim of the project was to draw up an overview of greenhouse gas emission trading possibilities in the Czech Republic. The study describes the development of greenhouse gas emission trading in the Czech Republic and its individual mechanisms – the process of Joint Implementation, the connection between JI and the European mechanism EU ETS, the Czech National Allocation plan, etc. The study provides an overview of individual projects implemented in the Czech Republic and describes development of the legislation in the area of emissions trading and renewable energy support.

Evaluating GHG Emission Reductions in Energy Efficiency Projects (PCF/World Bank)

The objective of the study was to elaborate standard procedures for baseline determination of the demand side energy efficiency Joint Implementation projects. The focus was given on the sectors where ESCO or ESCO-like intermediaries are likely to invest with additional carbon funding in economies in transition (EIT), particularly the Czech Republic.
