Common Energy Concept in Business Parks: An Opportunity for Savings

The on-going centralisation of various business areas, including industrial production and services, leads to growing use of so-called industrial or business parks. They are significant consumers of energy, particularly of electricity and heat. Two situations in particular are responsible for the establishment of business parks: the revitalisation of industrial sites that are no longer in operation (because the original industrial plant has been closed down) and new development zones established in order to support the eco- nomic development of a nearby town. What are the best tools to identify and carry out the energy savings potential? read more

Ecodesign of directional lamps

The technology of lamps is undergoing great development, which has also been reflected in changed legislation on energy-labelling of lamps and ecodesign, which determines the lowest possible parameters of the products that are placed on the market. In 2012, legislation introducing new energy labels for luminaires was adopted, as was European Commission Regulation No. 1194/2012, with regard to ecodesign requirements for directional lamps, light emitting diode lamps and related equipment. read more

Results within the Green Savings in 2011

The Green Savings programme, financed from the Czech Republic’s revenues from the emission surpluses, mainly aims to support selected measures resulting in increased energy efficiency carried out in residential buildings. This will lead to immediate abatement of CO2 emissions, as well as the starting up of the long-term trend of sustainable construction. The Green Savings programme is administered by the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic. This article provides information about the results of verification of CO2 emission reduction for the programme´s Annual Report for 2011. read more

New study: Selecting Indicators to Measure Energy Poverty

25.05.2016

Energy poverty is a raising policy issue across the EU. To understand the extent and depth of the problem of affordability of energy services better indicators are needed. The new report, published in may 2016 and elaborated in participation with SEVEn, recommends four key indicators to measure the number of households in energy poverty. These indicators are tested and computed for the Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain and Italy using currently available data.

Change Best is an international project that supports the development of a market for energy saving services. The project shows examples of good practices in developing the energy service market, strategies, forms of support and measures resulting from the implementation of Directive 2006/32/ EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, on energy end-use efficiency and energy services. The main goal of the project is to assist the energy companies and energy service companies in entering the market for energy efficient services and assist in the development of this market by disseminating information on successful projects that have used the EPC method and other types of energy services.
