Study tour of the government officers from Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

SEVEn, The Energy Efficiency Center organised a study trip for the group of Armenian, Kazakh and Kyrgyz energy efficiency experts in June 2014. The study tour was focused on the topics of energy efficient buildings and was undertaken with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The tour participants benefited from presentations delivered by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic and other governmental institutions, non-profit organisations and private companies. Participants also benefited from targeted discussions with professional building designers, energy auditors and other specialists on the field of energy-efficient buildings.

Organisers of the study tour ensured a visit to several buildings highlighting good practice examples of renovated and new low-energy buildings. One example included a visit to passive residential building, installation of renewable technologies using the energy performance contracting (EPC) method in the National Theatre in Prague, and a school facility with an EPC method combined with public subsidies, leading to an overall high level decrease of the energy consumption of the building.

The following part of the project is the local training of specialists and government officers of Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of energy audits, building certifications, quality control and energy management.
