Energy poverty is not only about high energy bills. It is about people’s vulnerability and equity in the energy transition. Despite strong welfare systems, rising energy prices, ageing housing stock, and harsh climatic conditions are generating situations of vulnerability in central northern Europe too particularly among low-income, rural, and aging populations.
This two-hour online session brings together experts and practitioners to explore what vulnerability and equity mean in practice. Participants will hear both the European framing and concrete regional experiences, from monitoring hidden energy poverty, providing local advisory services, to ensuring that renovation and energy efficiency measures are socially just. The event is designed to spark exchange, practical learning, and pathways for action.
