MATRYCS Project Enhanced Use of Intelligent and Automated Buildings

The main idea of the MATRYCS project was enhancing utilization of intelligent and automated buildings "churning out" terabytes of data in combination with other extensive databases. The project's subtitle is the "big data for buildings," which can increase the efficiency and reliability of individual building systems. Today, large amounts of building data are available that are not utilized sufficiently efficiently due to the diversity of the data itself and usually their dynamic character and various data architectures. The MATRYCS project created a unified data model enabling concentration of diverse data streams, to which 13 specific applications that work with the data are connected. These applications are the innovative "smart" part of the project, utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence elements. Specific MATRYCS project applications include, for example, photovoltaic power plant production prediction, building system failure prediction, consumption prediction, etc. Project outputs were verified on 11 pilot projects.
