REFINE Increased Energy Service Financing Availability
The REFINE project, funded through the EU Horizon 2020 program, enhanced financing availability for energy service projects across eight European countries, thereby increasing their deployment for energy efficiency investments. Successful methodologies for selling receivables from Czech EPC projects provided a blueprint for applications in other EU member states. SEVEn coordinated project activities in the Czech Republic and contributed to modifying State Environmental Fund (SFŽP) subsidy conditions and procedure, enabling ESCO companies to sell client receivables to banks after project completion while maintaining compliance with all subsidy requirements. This mechanism is crucial as it allows companies to recover financial resources for reinvestment in additional projects.
